Garnet Sand is a non-metallic naturally obtained mineral abrasive. The grains have a sub angular form. Because of it unique form , grinding or breaking of particles is not done throughout the entire processing. Salgo Garnet is highly efficient and effective as an abrasive due to this feature. Garnet Sand has got high purity which has made it one of the most reputed brand in Sand Blasting, Water Jet Cutting, Water Filtration, Surface Preparation etc. The premium quality is accomplished due to its high purity and low salinity. Our team carry out stringent quality control tests at every stage of abrasive manufacturing. Only the finest natural resources go into the making of Salgo Garnet. Garnet Sand is processed to the high quality with stringent quality control measures at every stage of processing, packing and transportation. A constant premium quality standard is ensured from the mining/processing to the end user.
Other Information:
The most important industrial use of garnet is as an abrasive. About 90% production of abrasive garnet is used for of garnet-coated papers, clothes and discs. The remaining 10% output is used in the form of loose grains for surfacing and polishing soft stones (marble, slate, soapstone, etc.). Clear, flawless and rich colored crystals of garnet are used as semi-precious stone.

Ilmenite Sand also known as Manaccanite, is a titanium-iron oxide mineral with the idealized formula FeTiO.Ilmenite is blended and processed to create titanium dioxide, a high quality white pigment which is ultraviolet (UV), water and chemically resistant while also being non-toxic. More than half of all titanium dioxide pigment is used in the production of paints (household, industrial and automotive etc.) as it reflects the sun’s harmful UV rays and protects paint from peeling. Titanium dioxide is also an important ingredient in the manufacturing of sunscreen, cosmetics, plastics, ink, paper, toothpaste and some foods such as flour and icing sugar to improve their brightness.
Other Information:
For manufacture of titanium dioxide pigment, limonite is first treated chemically to obtain upgraded ilmenite, commonly called as synthetic rutile. There are two major pigment production processes namely chloride process and sulphate process depending on different operating characteristics and feedstock requirements.

Rutile Sand is a rich source of titanium. Titanium dioxide is a very white, opaque substance. Because of its opaque and reflective properties, it is used as a pigment in paints, plastics, and paper. Titanium dioxide is also used in sunscreen because of its ability to reflect UV light. Rutile is used for Electrode Industry as flux component.

Sillimanite Sand as a natural and untreated mineral is a very important raw material for high alumina refractories. Sillimanite Sand is obtained from high temperature, aluminum-rich vicinity. The industrial uses of sillimanite mineral specially related to their unique chemical and physical properties. High alumina content and lower fe2o3 and LOI contributes to its main chemical properties. Withstanding the high temperatures and pressure the material is highly suitable for refractory and foundry application. Sillimanite is extensively used in Iron and steel, Petrochemical, Electrical, Cement, Zinc and Glass industries, Refractory industry, foundry, Precision investment casting, electrical porcelains, sanitary ware and abrasives. The sillimanite mineral in raw or calcined form is specially used in manufacturing of refractory bricks, shapes, castings, monolithics, ramming and gunning mixtures.
